I'm not a Zouk professional or even a particularly good Zouk dancer, so I have relied on the work of others to put this guide together. I have included references to the sources I have used throughout the guide, both as an acknowledgment of the work of others and as a way for you to find more information on particualar topics.
In terms of general recommendations for learning Zouk, I would strongly suggest finding a local teacher or group to learn from, reading stuff on your computer can help but only if you are also putting it into practice in real life. If you are looking for online resources, I have found the following to be helpful and they have all very much informed this guide:

- Brazillian Zouk Dance Council, especially this page and this one.
- Brick Dance Academy, often referenced for anything related to technique, very helpful.
- Dancelib, extremely helpful for finding specific moves and variations.
- District Zouk, I am very lucky that many of the classes and socials I attended just so happened to be at one of the best Zouk schools in the world.
- Jettence, particulary this article and this one.
- Online Zouk School and Tiago Movimentus, their videos are very helpful for understanding a wide array of topics in Zouk.
- V Dance Club, particulary their "Introduction to Zouk", "Beginner-Intermediate Brazillian Zouk", "Intermediate Brazillian Zouk" and "Advanced Brazillian Zouk" courses.
- Zouk Germany and Zouk Atoms, for developing a very interesting, new systemic approach to understanding Zouk.
